Ziricote Grass Pots

These 2 Grass pots are made from pieces of Ziricote or black persimmon wood. It is also known as Mexican ebony, Latin scientific name: Ziricote, Ciricote (Cordia Dodecandra), it originates from Central and South America. It was originally purchased during my Lace Bobbin days many years ago and had sat forgotten on the shelf until recently.
The grain on these 2 pots is stunning with the background to the dark stripes being almost yellow. Each pot has been hand turned, hand sanded, sealed and given a natural wax finish to reveal the graining within the wood.
The pots are approx. 11“ and 8“ high respectively and each is approx. 2“ in diam.
They are suitable for dry goods only.
