This lump of oak burr has a wide but thin area where it has been sliced off the trunk but then only a small lump of burr sticking out from it. By turning it this way I have been able to show most of the surface near where it was attached to the tree together with the inside of the small lump of burr sticking out from it. This lump is now the base of the bowl.
