Natural edged Olive dish

A slice off an Olive branch brought from his holiday a few years ago by a friend . This piece has been sliced off the end of the branch to show the cross section though this beautiful wood. The bark, sapwood and heartwood are all visible in this item and show the progression from the fairly plain sapwood through into the wild grain of the heartwood.
This shallow dish has been turned with a foot to lift it up off the surface it is placed on to show off the natural shape to its best effect.
The piece has been hand turned and then hand finished using a natural wax polish to give it a lovely sheen and a smooth silky finish.
This piece is approx. 9” at its widest, approx 7” at its narrowest and approx 1.5” high.
