Assorted branch pots

£32.00
sold out

This small collection of pots turned out of yew branches shows the marked difference between the pale sap wood and the beautiful orange heart wood often found in yew. This contrast can be found in other timbers but I find yew to be the most pleasing.

The shape of the top of each pot is determined by the shape of the branch it is turned from.  The colour of the heart wood is affected by the soil it grew in with some yew containing purple streaks  from soil with a high iron content.

Each pot is hand finished using a natural wax polish.

Sizes dependent on the size of the branch but between 2.5 and 4 inches diameter and 3 to 4 inches tall.
